My Story

Orlando is my original hometown. I was born in Orlando in Winter Park.  We later moved to the Chattanooga area in Tennessee.  My Father managed a music store in North Gate Mall and at age 14 had my older brother and me selling sheet music and stringing guitars for anyone buying a new set.

Our uncle owned a Yamaha piano dealership called Manor Music Co.  He was nice enough to let me work on all types of pianos and organs starting at about 18 years old.  I would take apart old upright pianos and repair what was needed and do some finish touch ups. That led to Hammond B-3 organs and Leslie Speakers and later to Yamaha Disklavier player systems and epoxy/ polyester finish repairs.

In 1993 I had moved back to Orlando and was working for Jones Music in Fern Park, Fl.  He had me refinishing pianos 5 days a week and working on Pianodisc player pianos.  In 1994 I traveled to Sacramento to the Pianodisc Factory to get certified as a retrofit player system installation technician.

About a year later I was married and moved to the Pensacola area.  I went around introducing myself to every piano dealer from New Orleans, Metairie, Gulf Port, Slidell, Hammond, Mobile, Pensacola, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Hattiesburg, I had 10 piano dealers on the Gulf Coast that contracted for me to install player systems and practice cabinet refinishing.  All the while expanding my abilities to rebuild every aspect of a piano from the ground up.

I moved back to Orlando in 2011 to be with my Mom in her final days.  Once again I went around and introduced myself to Piano dealers and was asked to join the team at Steinway Piano Galleries of Orlando as an independent contractor.

I am still in good standing with every piano dealer and client I have ever worked with.  I have spent many years developing a level of expertise that has allowed me to work with Steinway New York, Florida State University, Tallahassee,  University of Florida in Gainesville,  Santa Fe College, Gainesville.  Rollins College, Winter Park.  The Dr Phillips Center for Performing arts in Orlando, And even onboard the Viking Star Cruise Ship in Puerto Rico's harbor. (Repairing a damaged 7 foot Steinway B grand piano.)  Now I am ready to help you with your piano needs.   Please let me know how we can be of service.
